If it is loaded, then you are probably missing the firmware since its not included in the debian kernel and you have to install it seperately.
Anyway it might be useful to see what knoppix makes of your system. It’s the same ethernet card i checked and I followed your instructions but at the end the device is not listed in ifconfig.
